How PPF Helps Protect Your Car on Indian Roads

Protection needs are not universal. What a car faces on a Kolkata commute or a Durgapur Expressway run is very different from a garaged weekend car in a mild climate.

Stone chips and gravel

Construction stretches, unswept shoulders and loose gravel are everywhere. The bonnet leading edge, bumper and fender arches take repeated hits, and every one of them is a potential rust starting point once the paint is broken.

Dust and abrasive grit

Fine dust settles constantly and turns into a mild abrasive the moment someone wipes a dry panel. Film gives you a sacrificial surface, and its slick top coat makes safe rinsing easier.

Dense traffic

Tight parking, two-wheelers squeezing past and pedestrians brushing panels create low-speed scuffs on doors, handles and mirrors. Self-healing film absorbs many of these light marks.

Road debris on highways

Following a truck on a national highway is effectively a sandblasting session for the front end. This is where a full front-end kit pays for itself quickly.

Harsh sunlight

Long summers and intense UV accelerate fading and clear coat degradation, especially on the roof and bonnet. Films with UV inhibitors slow that process.

Insects, birds and sap

Insect splatter on highway drives and bird droppings in parking areas are acidic. Left in the sun, they etch clear coat within days. On film, they clean off far more forgivingly.

Monsoon considerations

Waterlogged roads throw up grit and contaminated spray. Rinse the car after wading through standing water, and pay attention to lower panels and arch edges where debris collects.

A sensible coverage plan

  • Minimum: bonnet, front bumper, front fenders, mirrors and headlights
  • Add-on: A-pillars and roof leading edge for highway users
  • Add-on: door edges, handle cups and boot lip for city parking
  • Full body: for premium cars, dark colours and long ownership plans
